toptable Dining Awards 2007 - Runner-up: Best Cheap Eats category

Crossing a metal gangplank above a steaming open plan kitchen into the world of Belgo Centraal, and seeing its waiters decked out in monk’s habits, is a real treat for the senses. It’s a subterranean den of delights, and right in the heart of Covent Garden. The vibe is informal with the long refectory style tables and the food hearty.

good food- excellent choice of beers!! recommend as somewhere for good value food, to have a meal with friends. Service very good, as we had to have a quick turnaround, & the manager ensured that everything was done quickly for us.

Once again Belgo's service was faultless, quick, efficient friendly staff serving good food at a great price. The steak was cooked to perfection and was so tender. Try the mayonaise it's a must for the frites!

Great venue, unique and quirky, sound like a funny thing to say but - cool toilets! The food was great, the service was friendly and unimposing and for a non-beer drinker- I DRANK BEER! And enjoyed it! Good all round!

Brought my friend from out of town to Belgo Centraal, as she loves beer, and I thought to recommend to her the wonderful fruit beers at Belgo. She was absolutely thrilled with the strawberry beer, and loved the fresh mussels and frites. Having been to Belgo plenty of times, I was not disappointed, and would definitely go there again.

Belgo Centraal is a nice restaurant serving tasty food. However, it is another of those annoying restaurants that adds an 'optional' 12.5% service. The service was OK, but not enough for every member of our table to pay a £5 tip EACH. Also, the restaurant was hot and sweaty - surely with all of this profit earned on the meals they could install some air con!!?? However, the food was good.

Belgo Centraal is always a fun and good value venue, and always the service never quite as good as one would hope. But will always return...

Fantastic meal, food was served very promptly, staff could have been a bit quicker clearing up, but thats me being picky. Overall I would highly recommend Belgo Centraal, and will certainly be heading back there next time I'm in London.

Belgo's in Covent Garden - Amazing beer menu and great food to go with. Service wasn't quite as good and felt like a hassle when asking for info on the beers. But otherwise, great atmosphere and reasonably priced for what for your location and what you get. Lobster was amazing for £16! The gangplank over the kitchen and the communal toilet hand basin added a quirky extra to the evening!
